I have some incredible news to share.
My song "Apathy" has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the R&B/Soul category in the 2025 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) — and I am still processing how huge this feels.
If you know me or have been following my journey, you know that "Apathy" came from a very real place. I wrote it during a chapter of my life where I was pouring everything into a relationship and receiving very little in return. That feeling of being taken for granted — of loving loudly while the other person barely whispered back — is what birthed this track. It was never just a song to me. It was a confession. A release. A moment of clarity.
So to receive this recognition from ISC, one of the most respected songwriting competitions in the world, is deeply validating.
Here is what makes this honor so meaningful: the 2025 competition received nearly 13,000 entries from over 112 countries. Only 1% of all submissions earned an Honorable Mention. Being counted among that top tier — and being recognized as an official ISC winner — is something I am incredibly proud of.
I was also thrilled to learn that artists I admire have walked this same path. Kehlani, whose songwriting on "Folded" has always resonated with me, is a past ISC winner. To see my name in any proximity to that caliber of artistry is surreal and deeply motivating.
To everyone who has streamed "Apathy," shared it, or told me it spoke to something they were going through — thank you. This win is yours, too. You reminded me that the most personal stories are often the most universal.
This is just the beginning. I am more excited than ever about what is ahead for my music career, and I cannot wait to share what I have been working on next.
